The challenge
One take, no retakes.
Live performance. A concert happens once, so every camera has to be in the right place for every movement.
Two ensembles, two venues. The Symphony Orchestra and Wind Symphony play Hamer Hall and the Melbourne Recital Centre.
Consistent every time. The university wanted the same quality and setup across a full season, within its budget.

What we did
Cover it, then cut it.
A director and operators run a consistent multi-camera setup, and the edit is synced to the separately recorded audio mix.
Six to nine cameras
A minimum of six cameras, sometimes nine, so the edit can follow soloists, sections and the conductor.
Synced to the mix
The audio is recorded and mixed by the university's engineer, and we sync it to the multi-camera edit.
One video per piece
Each piece edited as its own video with consistent titling, surtitles where needed, and 4K delivery.
